Web site optimization refers to creation of web pages which are friendly to search engines i.e. Rich Text content loaded pages. Most of the Search Engines only spiders and read text not images, sound or flash files.

Title tag

Title tag must contain the keywords most relevant to the web page.

Meta Tags

All meta tags must be in order and systematic.

ALT tags : Alt tags must be added to the images.

Content

The web page must be content rich, precise and logical with proper navigation menu.

JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

Search engine does not know abbot CSS or JavaScript. Hence the code for these files must be kept in external files.

Frames

The NOFRAMES tag should be included so that search engine can't read framesets to index the pages.

Tables

Search engines generally don't have any problem in reading a table-based page, if the layout is correct and not very complex.
